Durham

Walk around Alice and Clarke's neighborhood, an excellent chicken biscuit and best of all, more time with friends.

Pegs

Day trip to South Carolina to get "pegheds"for my fiddles. Very interesting process and place. Went to the South Carolina State Museum while Chuck installed the pegs. The elephant was part of an exhibit about Indian (from India) asAmericans. Long drive, but well worth it (to me, at least!). I think these new pegs will be great. They have hidden gears so you don't need fine tuners anymore.

Party day

Two parties today! First, a lovely gathering with former cloggers, then another fun party with a bunch of folk dancers.

Durham

Arrived yesterday in a rousing thunderstorm, complete with spectacular lightening! Spent the morning catching up with Dan and Cathy and running errands, then nap, then too the North Carolina Museum of Art, where these wire-frame heads greeted us. The purpose of the visit, though, was too see a special exhibit of Renaissance paintings from Venice. Interesting, then dinner and theater--a well-done Noel Coward play, Hayfever.
